Congratulations to Sensei Maurice Sheppard for being the first Newfoundland and Labrador born Judoka to receive a 6th Degree (Rokudan) black belt in Judo. A lot of hard work and commitment was put in over the many years practicing and it is great to see the results! We are lucky to have so much experience supporting us!

Good Day, Judoka!
Today is the first of September, which means we are starting a new training year. Welcome back to all our returning athletes! At this time, we need you to re-submit your registration paperwork and pay your membership fee for the year, semester or month as you choose.

As a reminder, members can also pay a monthly fee of $90 instead of a lump sum for the year/semester, if that is preferable.

YOUTH CLASS AND DA STUDENTS READ THIS
The NLJA has booked our space for September 7th and 8th to run the Dojo Assistant Coaching course, thus our first Youth Class will be on Saturday, September 14th. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Results of the Spring Tournament

Last weekend our team competed in the 2024 Spring Provincial Tournament. There were some great fights and results that everyone should be proud of. Some new Judoka competed and did amazing in their first tournament. Results are here. Don't forget to tell your friends and bring them in to try out a class or two!

Training Session with the CNIB

Our team had a great time over the weekend supporting Sensei Grant in a trial class with the Canadian National Institute for the Blind. We loved the opportunity to bring more to our community. We hope to see more events like this and would love to include those from the CNIB to our regular training classes.

With the expected snow fall from Friday thru to Saturday, classes scheduled for Saturday will not be going ahead. As of this point, Sunday class will be going ahead as scheduled.
