Grading is an important aspect of judo development as it provides recognition of a judoka's progress in mastering judo skills and a means of grouping similarly skilled judoka.

The National Grading Syllabus is for Shodan and higher gradings (black belt and above).
The National Kyu Grading Syllabus is for White to Brown Belt gradings. It provides a guide to the judo techniques that students should be familiar with at the various stages of their judo development.
